NIEPA Launches 5-Year Strategic Plan, Aligns with Federal Civil Service Strategic Implementation Plan and FME Education Reforms
Tenabe Bodunde reporting from Ondo City, Ondo State – In a significant milestone, the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has unveiled its 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, a comprehensive roadmap aimed at driving the Institute’s growth and development in line with the OHCSF Federal Civil Service Strategic Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25) and education reforms initiated by the Honorable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman SAN.
Unveiling the plan, Acting Director General of NIEPA, Dr. David Shofoyeke, commended the Strategic Plan Committee for their hard work and dedication. “This strategic plan is a testament to the Institute’s commitment to excellence and its determination to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria’s education sector,” he said. According to Shofoyeke, the launch of the strategic plan is a significant achievement for NIEPA, demonstrating its commitment to education development and its alignment with the OHCSF Federal Civil Service Strategic Implementation Plan and the FME education reforms. Dr. Shofoyeke assured that the Institute will disseminate the strategic plan through workshops and ensure its translation into a transformational process for the benefit of all stakeholders.
Chair of the Strategic Plan Committee Dr. Lara Ogunsola while presenting the plan to the Institute’s management and heads of department said, “the plan outlines the Institute’s goals and strategies for the next five years. Developed through a collaborative effort involving all seven departments of the Institute, the plan demonstrates the power of teamwork and participatory governance. Dr. Ogunsola emphasized that the plan is a “living reference framework” that will guide the Institute’s activities. According to Dr. Ogunsola, “This strategic plan is a crucial step towards achieving our vision of becoming a world-class Institute for educational planning and administration. We are committed to making a positive impact on Nigeria’s education sector, and this plan will serve as a guiding document for our activities over the next five years.” She listed clear direction, focus, decision making, accountability, adaptability, resource allocation, innovation, measurable goals, collaboration and competitive advantage as crucial reasons why organizations should develop strategic plana.
Speaking at the end of the presentation, the Acting Registrar of the Institute, Dr. Festus Olaolu, expressed his gratitude to members of NIEPA’s expanded Management for their tireless efforts in making the launch a success. “I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for your dedication and hard work. Your contributions have made this achievement possible, and I am grateful to work with such a talented and committed team.”
