NIEPA Unveils Service Charter to Enhance Accountability and Transparency
Ondo, NIGERIA – In a major development, the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has launched a comprehensive Service Charter, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
According to information made available to newsmen by the New Media Officer, Bodunde Tenabe, the Service Charter was developed in response to the performance bond signed with the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman SAN, earlier this year, which mandates monthly progress reports from NIEPA and other departments, parastatals, and agencies of the ministry.
“The Service Charter is a vital document that outlines our commitment to quality service delivery and sets a benchmark for measuring staff and organizational performance,” Dr David Shofoyeke, Acting Director General of NIEPA, explained while receiving the document from the committee chairman.
“The charter encompasses essential components, including service standards and expectations, performance indicators and targets, and accountability frameworks,” he added.
Dr. Shofoyeke further explained that the implementation of the Service Charter will have a trickle-down effect, with Heads of Departments signing performance bonds with the Director General, and Heads of Units doing likewise with their HODs. “This cascading approach ensures accountability and transparency at all levels, fostering a culture of excellence within NIEPA.”
He also noted that the introduction of the Service Charter demonstrates NIEPA’s dedication to enhancing its service delivery and promoting accountability, aligning with its vision and mission. “With the Service Charter in place, we are poised to strengthen our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, driving positive change in the educational sector,” he said.
The Service Charter was presented to an extended management gathering by Mrs Yemi Kiladejo, Deputy Registrar, Council Matters and General Administration, marking a significant milestone in NIEPA’s journey towards enhancing its service delivery and promoting accountability.
