By Bodunde Tenabe
ONDO- As the global Muslim Ummah celebrates the sighting of the Shawwal crescent to mark the end of the 2026 Ramadan fast, the Acting Director General of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, Ondo, Dr. David Shofoyeke, has warmly felicitated with Muslim faithful across Nigeria, the host community, and the entire West African sub-region.

In a special Eid-el-Fitr message released on Thursday evening by the Institute Media Officer, Bodunde Tenabe, the Chief Executive enjoined all educational planners, administrators, and allied partners to deeply internalize the profound lessons of piety, self-discipline, and sacrifice that the holy month embodies.
Drawing direct inspiration from the national call to action by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for citizens to rededicate themselves to the noble duty of nation-building, the Ag. Director General emphasized that the core virtues of Ramadan are exactly what are required to build a resilient and equitable education sector. He noted that just as fasting requires total submission and patience, the monumental task of reforming and managing the school systems of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, alongside the strategic development of comprehensive education sector plans, demands unwavering dedication, compassion for the less privileged, and a union of wills among all stakeholders.
Dr. Shofoyeke used the occasion to express deep appreciation to the Muslim staff of the Institute, state government clients, and international development partners for their continued faith, patronage, and collaborative spirit over the years. He reiterated the commitment of the Institute to fostering peaceful coexistence and driving the specialized capacity development of the education sector workforce and the creation of robust education sector plans, assuring stakeholders that the management remains steadfast in its mandate to deliver world-class educational planning strategies that benefit every Nigerian child.
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, he prayed that the solemn supplications made during the sacred month yield lasting peace, unity, and unprecedented prosperity for the nation and the broader African continent.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslim faithful within the Institute, the Imam of the Muslim community at NIEPA, Abdul Kadir, Shuaib, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. He commended the Ag Director General and the entire management for their unwavering support for the Muslim faithful throughout the holy month, praying for a highly prosperous year ahead for the Institute and urging everyone to sustain the core virtues of Islam learned during Ramadan.
