HHH Foundation School Abuja Embarks on 5-Day Retreat Programme at NIEPA

The management team of HHH Foundation School Abuja, led by its Board Member, Mallam Abubakar Dantsoho, is currently undergoing a 5-day retreat programme at the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in Ondo. The retreat, which started on Monday, August 19, 2024, and will end on August 23, 2024, focuses on strengthening the school’s capacity for Effective School Management in the 21st century.

Mallam Dantsoho at a brief opening ceremony at the Institute’s New Training Hall, emphasized the importance of wisdom (Hikma) in Islam, stating it is one of the best possessions of a Muslim. He highlighted the school’s unique approach to education, balancing Islamic content and Quran memorization with secular education for a comprehensive learning experience.

He added that the retreat aims to equip the management team and other staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance their school’s management and leadership capabilities. The Board member also projected the retreat to provide an opportunity for the school to align its vision and objectives with national education policies and standards.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Acting Director-General of NIEPA, Dr. Shofoyeke, welcomed the participants and shared the Institute’s achievements and contributions to national education development. He emphasized NIEPA’s commitment to building the capacity of education planners and managers to enhance Nigeria’s education quality and prepare them for 21st-century challenges. Dr. Shofoyeke noted that this programme aligns with NIEPA’s mandate to build capacity in the education sector, as outlined in the National Education Policy.

He commended the school’s management for taking a bold step towards system strengthening and urged them to ensure that the valuable skills imparted during the workshop were put into practice.
