HHH Foundation School Abuja Concludes Successful 5-Day Retreat Programme at NIEPA

The management team of HHH Foundation School Abuja has successfully completed a 5-day retreat programme at the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in Ondo. The retreat, which took place from August 19 to 23, 2024, focused on developing a comprehensive School Improvement Plan (SIP) to enhance the school’s management and leadership capabilities.

According to information made available to newsmen by the Institute’s New Media Officer Bodunde Tenabe, the programme’s primary objective was to equip the management team with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a tailored SIP. This plan aims to strengthen the school’s capacity for effective management in the 21st century, aligning with national education policies and standards. The school’s unique approach to education, balancing Islamic content and Quran memorization with secular education, was highlighted during the retreat. Tenabe further stated that the programme aimed to enhance this approach by providing the management team with the tools and expertise needed to improve the school’s overall performance.

The successful facilitation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) was the highlight of the retreat, marking a significant milestone for HHH Foundation School Abuja and it demonstrated NIEPA’s mandate to build capacity in the education sector, aligning with national education policy. The SIP session, personally handled by the Acting Director-General of NIEPA, Dr. David Shofoyeke, alongside Dr. Sunday Adegbesan, provided a comprehensive roadmap for the school’s improvement. The SIP will enable the school to identify areas of strength and weakness, set realistic goals, and develop strategies to achieve them. This will lead to improved academic performance, enhanced teacher effectiveness, and better resource allocation. By implementing the SIP, HHH Foundation School Abuja will be well-positioned to provide high-quality education and achieve its vision.

“We are extremely satisfied with the outcome of this retreat and the support provided by NIEPA,” remarked Mallam Abubakar Dantsoho. “NIEPA has distinguished itself from other training outfits by practically building remote skills in education sector workers, which is a testament to their commitment to excellence. I also commend the facilitation approach by NIEPA, which is unique and refreshing. The ‘do-it-yourself’ method is just great, as it empowers us to take ownership of our improvement plan. The School Improvement Plan will be instrumental in driving our school’s growth and improvement, and we look forward to implementing it effectively.”
