Global Ministerial SERVICOM Committee Meeting Highlights Commitment to Inclusive Education Service Delivery
The 2025 Q2 Global Ministerial SERVICOM Committee Meeting was held at the Auditorium, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Headquarters, Abuja, on July 4, 2025. The meeting, chaired by Dr. Yusuf Saeed, Director of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement at the Federal Ministry of Education, brought together focal officers from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the country.
In a telephone conversation with NIEPA’s media officer, Tenabe Bodunde from the Abuja venue of the event, Mr. Nwosu Ugo, NIEPA’s Focal Officer, informed that Dr. Saeed, in his welcome remarks, emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovative problem-solving approaches in transforming educational service delivery in Nigeria. He highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to advancing service excellence across all education sector parastatals and noted that the SERVICOM initiative is critical in shaping national development.
According to Mr. Nwosu, the meeting focused on strengthening stakeholder collaboration to improve education sector service delivery, with discussions centred on integrated service delivery models, citizen-centric feedback mechanisms, capacity building for collaborative leadership, technology-enabled coordination, and performance measurement and accountability. Participants engaged in deliberations aimed at producing concrete outcomes that would enhance collaborative capacity and service delivery in the education sector.
Mr. Nwosu said the meeting concluded with a call to action for participants to commit to collaborative actions emerging from the discussions, with the Federal Ministry of Education reaffirming its commitment to providing leadership, coordination, and support for initiatives that enhance educational service delivery in Nigeria. The deliberations, according to NIEPA’s Focal Officer, are expected to yield practical improvements in service delivery, driven by the collective efforts of the participants.
In attendance were Focal Officers from MDAs across the country. Notably, NIEPA has consistently demonstrated its commitment to best practices in service delivery and conformity with SERVICOM operations. A key milestone in this endeavour was the launch of the Institute’s first-ever Service Charter in 2024, a document outlining the service standards that citizens can expect from the Institute. Under the leadership of its Acting Director General, Dr. David Shofoyeke, this initiative underscores NIEPA’s dedication to service excellence and its alignment with the principles of SERVICOM. Mr. Nwosu’s active participation in the meeting further highlights NIEPA’s commitment to service delivery and its engagement with SERVICOM activities.
