NIEPA Mourns the Passing of the Lisa of Ondo Kingdom, High Chief Simeon Oguntimehin; Condoles with the Osemawe
ONDO – The Management and Staff of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo, have extended their deepest condolences to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Kiladejo, Jilo III, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, the esteemed members of the Osemawe-in-Council, and the entire people of Ondo Kingdom, on the passing of the revered Lisa of Ondo Kingdom, High Chief Sir Simeon Olusola Oguntimehin, OON.

In a statement released on behalf of the Acting Director-General, Dr. David A. Shofoyeke, by the New Media Officer, Bodunde Tenabe, the Institute noted that it received the news of this great loss with profound sadness. The statement described the late Lisa as a distinguished leader, a custodian of tradition, and a pillar of wisdom whose contributions to the growth, unity, and cultural preservation of the Ondo Kingdom will never be forgotten.
Beyond his traditional duties as the second-in-command to the paramount ruler, High Chief Oguntimehin was a highly accomplished professional and a trailblazer in the financial sector. As a renowned Chartered Accountant and former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), he occupied numerous leadership positions throughout his illustrious career. His legacy of service, unparalleled integrity, and dedication to both national and community development remains an enduring inspiration to all.
For NIEPA, the passing of the Lisa is a deeply personal loss. The statement recalled with immense gratitude his instrumental role and unwavering support during a critical period about five years ago. When the Institute faced a severe crisis that threatened its operations and physical presence, High Chief Oguntimehin’s timely, fatherly intervention and strong advocacy were pivotal in ensuring that NIEPA remained firmly situated in its current location within the Ondo Kingdom. His steadfast commitment to educational development and the progress of his host community will forever be etched in the history of the Institute.
At this difficult time, the Acting Director-General, Management, and Staff of NIEPA stand in solidarity with the Osemawe-in-Council and the good people of Ondo Kingdom.
“We pray that the Almighty grants the departed eternal rest and gives His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Kiladejo, Jilo III, the Council, the immediate family, and the entire kingdom the strength and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” the statement concluded.
