NIEPA Celebrates Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa; Lauds Transformative Strides in Nigeria’s Education Sector

ONDO – The Management and Staff of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo, have felicitated with the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Maruf Alausa, CON, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a visionary catalyst for Nigeria’s educational renaissance.

In a special congratulatory message released by the New Media Officer, Bodunde Tenabe, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of NIEPA, Dr. David A. Shofoyeke, the Institute celebrated the Minister’s exceptional leadership, noting that his tenure has brought unprecedented stability and innovation to a sector that is the bedrock of national development.

Since assuming office as the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Alausa has deployed his profound administrative acumen to revolutionize the Nigerian educational landscape. A cornerstone of this revolution is his aggressive expansion and prioritization of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. Recognizing the urgent need to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial realities, the Minister’s TVET initiatives are actively equipping a new generation of Nigerian youths with practical, globally competitive skills, directly tackling unemployment and driving economic self-reliance.

Furthermore, inheriting a sector frequently plagued by systemic crises and industrial unrest, the Minister moved swiftly to calm turbulent waters. Through proactive dialogue, strategic policy execution, and a strict commitment to the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, his exceptional crisis management skills have stabilized academic calendars and restored institutional confidence across the nation.

Bringing these national milestones closer to home, the Minister’s achievements have reverberated positively on NIEPA. Under Dr. Alausa’s supportive oversight and demand for excellence, NIEPA is experiencing a dynamic repositioning to fulfill its statutory mandate not just within Nigeria, but across the African continent.

A major testament to this positive reverberation under the Minister’s watch is the recent international recognition of NIEPA’s leadership, culminating in the inauguration of the Acting Director-General, Dr. David A. Shofoyeke, onto the board of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), Ghana. This cross-border synergy perfectly aligns with the Minister’s broader vision for regional educational integration and capacity building.

“Today, we do not just celebrate the birth of a statesman; we celebrate a reformer whose policies are actively securing the future of the Nigerian child and creating an enabling environment for institutions like ours to thrive globally,” the statement read. “The entire NIEPA family prays that the Almighty grants Dr. Tunji Maruf Alausa robust health, increased wisdom, and the grace to continue his remarkable service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
